FishBowl

So I am thinking that we should have a running fish bowl on-line. No, not a tank with legs, but a continuous Q & A format here on the blog site for any and all questions. That way if you have a question you won't forget it and it might provoke other questions from other people about what you're asking and so on. It could also be a place where we can discuss some of our own opinions on the answers to these questions. Lets see what we can come up with.

Awesome Worship!!!

Am I crazy or was our last worship night alive and on fire!?!? I thought so and a few other people made some similar comments afterwards, but lets hear what the rest of you think. What was good, what was not so good, and how could those things be made better?

Were you Seen?

I was just checking to see who showed up bright and early at the pole and if you did what you thought of it. I went to Del Campo, which I understand to be spanish for " the Campo". I had a good time and saw a bunch of people I knew. We all stood around the flag pole and prayed and enouraged one another until classes started. Alot of people stopped praying around 7:30, which disappointed me since I wanted to be there and keep praying until all of the late-comers, both Christian and non, showed up. Tell us all about your experiences with SYATP.

KAINOTES

And now for something completely different . . . . Yes it's true, we have left sin (sorta) and have moved onto something new. In fact it's newness is what it is. Kainotes, Greek for newness, is what we'll be discussing for the next few weeks and will be our theme for the year. We began on this last Thursday with how we became (I know what your thinking but don't go there) new creations by accepting Christ, and in the weeks to come we'll be examining how we live as new creations today and what newness will be waiting for us after the end times. Word.

So tell me, what does it mean to you to be alive as a new creation, transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit into something that God will use for His glory? What changes have you seen as you have accepted Christ into your life and invited Him to be the LORD of your world. I know for myself I have been constantly challenged to see things from a new perspective. Before I started walking with Christ I was incredibly selfish and used people for my own gain all the time. When I decided to follow Jesus it wasn't easy for me to change how I actually felt about other people, but as I gave my life over to Christ I watched myself change into someone who cared rather than someone who wouldn't look twice at another's sufferings.

So, what do you think?

Did you guys have fun at the party? I know that I did. What else do you think would be fun for us to do as a group?

But We Still Have to Fight

So after hearing about the SEVEN DEADLY SINS + (Blasphemy), which do you think that you stuggle with the most (Pride, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, or Blasphemy)? Honestly, for myself I think that I struggle with is a Lust for Power. Somehow I always want to think that I have what it takes to be in control of my own life even though I have screwed up A TON. I have to constantly remind myself that I don't have any power accept for what God has given me, and if I ever think that somehow I don't need Him in some part of my life (Pride) I need a quick reminder of who's in charge and knows best.

We're Done With Sin.

So we just got done talking about SIN and alot of the ways that it can creep into our lives. What Did you guys think, have any questions? Anything I left out that you wanted to hear more about, or something that needed to be clarified?
